Sam was an Industrial Designer for Bilt-Rite, Brooklyn, NY from 1952-1954, where he created new designs for juvenile products. Features seen in these 3 baby stroller designs were later used in production models touted as the “Cadillac" of baby strollers in the 1950's and 60's

About the Artist Samuel Shapiro (1921-1999) was a decorated WWII Pilot honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal, a graduate of Pratt Institute of Art in New York, an Industrial Designer in Detroit, Michigan's golden age auto industry, and an old friend of MAD Magazine's David Berg. Sam created in many art forms, including wood carving, clay sculpting, oil painting and drawing. Sam had a passion for detail and a love for fantasy art.
