1952 Buick Concept Car Sketch "Proposed Rouch" by Sam Shapiro (1921-1999). Sam was a decorated WWII vet and an Industrial Designer working in Detroit when he sketched this concept design for a 1952 Buick Rouch on scrap paper in 1950. Signed and dated. Original free-hand sketch on 8.5"x11" scrap paper. Sold in "as found" condition as seen in photos with cropped corners, folds, stains and 3-hole punched. Unframed.

Shapiro Family Estate Certificate of Authenticity provided with purchase.

*Original photos of Sam at work inside one of Detroit's auto design studios in 1950's, his original resume, WWII enlistment records or other documents of discovery provided for provenance if requested at time of purchase.

About the Artist Samuel Shapiro (1921-1999) was a decorated WWII Pilot honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal, a graduate of Pratt Institute of Art in New York, an Industrial Designer in Detroit, Michigan's golden age auto industry, and an old friend of MAD Magazine's David Berg. Sam created in many art forms, including wood carving, clay sculpting, oil painting and drawing. Sam had a passion for detail and a love for fantasy art.
