“About Face” is an original self-portrait by WW2 veteran Samuel Shapiro (1921-1999). Sam’s surviving family believe he painted About Face around 1947, when Sam attended Pratt Institute of Art in New York. About Face is richly textured in a deep assortment of layered colors, deftly applied to evoke a thoughtful, provocative face, classically rendered in abstract expressionist style. This piece is timeless. About Face is perfect for any room, anywhere.
